Well it's my birthday today not that anyone's noticing. From the few people who have taken the obvious hint and said Happy Birthday, I've noticed that I'm obligated to reply to that.
"Why thank you" I'm expected to say. Thanks for what? Taking the hint? Saying two words. Oh wow, what an effort. I must thank this person for saying two words. I'm not spitefull, I just think it's crazy that we're expected to do this. To me, saying Happy Birthday is on the same level as "Good morning" or "later dude". We don't have thank them for that do we?
For the rest of the day, on the off chance someone wishes me a Happy Birthday, my reply will be to the tune of one of the following.
"Yes"
"Indeed"
"Buy me a drink"
"Oh wow, you took the hint"
"I'm older than you. Suck!"
"It could be better"
Unless of course the person actually remembered and it's the first thing they say when they see me and they're all excited, an over-eager "Thanks!" on my behalf will be reserved.

Poor Damian. Sorry, but unless you're constantly reminding me (every five minutes) how many days til your birthday (not "it's on the 7th"), I'm not going to remember it. Dont think that means I hate you though, it's just that my memory is crap. I did remember that your party is on Saturday, and everyone knows the party is when your actual birthday is.
You know the one thing I hsve never forgotten about you (apart from the fact that your name is spelt DamiAn not DamiEn) is your birthday.
Only because you entered it into your phone last year as a reminder
Her mobile's dictionary reminded her it was spelt damiAn and her mobile's calendar reminded her about the date. If you replace the 'I have' in anna's comment with 'my mobile has' it fixes everything. Just kidding
