Change of John's name

As you may or may not know, serial blog commentor (and serial pest) John Eldridge is known as Eldo. After revising this nickname with him, I've decided that we're changing it to elko for these two reasons.
  • If you say it out loud, it sounds like alco
  • If you spell it backwards and add a Y, it becomes yokle

As we all known, John is an alcoholic yokle and therefore this name is much more fitting and so without his consent, I'm commanding you all to spread the name... along with retrosexual

But I've changed it to Joan! Joan dammit!

Admittedly, I stopped calling him Joan a few weeks ago (coincidentally, that was about the same time the joke got old), but it's the principle dammit. I'm not sure what principle it is, but ... hang on, I've thoroughly confused myself. I dont even know why I'm protesting this name change if I stopped using the name I came up with. Am I just talking for the sake of talking?

Ok, now I actually have something to say. I think we should follow the standard procedure for nicknames and call him ridgeo, pronounced ridjo. Or I could stop writing whiny comments and fix the clock on the blog. It says you posted this around 18 hours ago.

Hey there's no comment moderation here! Instant gratification by seeing my comments appear on the web straight away!

Just like this!

Ah, if you think about it not the majoity of people who know John are just going to call him Widget... I mean Eldo anyway so why bother? Personally I'm too lazy.

Every party has a pooper that's why we invited you. Party pooper! Party pooper!

Note: the melody and rhythm to that song can be found in Father of the Bride part 2.

Why bother? Never underestimate the power of the introduction of new nicknames. Sure you could argue that Joan never really took off but that's only because Ben wouldn't let anyone else use it. The names of Riffo, Jamin and Mothy are so widespread these days that Sherro, Ben and Tim have been phased out.

Oooooo! Instant gratification! It's like a drug now, seeing my comment just pop up like that.

Hmmm. Perhaps I should take comment moderation off my blog.

Oh, and I agree with Riffo. Nicknames can take off. It's not like anyone except the iggy meats called John "Eldo" anyway.

Word verification? The instant gratification is being tainted!

You've gotta have some way of filtering out the spam comments.

But Benny ben ben, I have heard you use eldo on countless occasions.

Yeah and Ben's an iggy meat. So what's the discrepancy?
